
26" American composition flapper "Cigarette Girl"
26" (66 cm.) Composition socket head of slender adult lady, painted facial features with exaggerated flapper style, blonde mohair wig with side braids, cigarette in mouth, all-composition adult modeled body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, high-heeled posed feet. The doll wears velvet evening jacket and pants with boa feather trim. Good condition, original finish with surface lines, a few flakes. Circa 1920, probably the "Cubeb Cigarette Girl", introduced as a promotional model to encourage smoking by women. Sold by Theriault's for $500.00 in 2007
